Anmar Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Ltd. is currently seeking an Welder to join our team!
Qualifications
- Trade certification as a Welder (obtained/completed in or outside of Canada);
- Experience in variety of welding techniques including SMAW, OAW, GTAW, TIG, GMAW, FCAW;
- At least three (3) years of welding experience, including pipe & plate, pressure vessel, and boiler welding experience;
- Experience welding a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminum, copper, magnesium, nickel, and titanium alloys;
- Experience welding composite materials, non-metallic materials, plasma coatings and steel, iron and other heavy metals;
- Experience welding a wide range of materials including stainless steel, chrome, and carbon;
- Experience operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment; and
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
- Language: This is an English language position. The individual must be able to speak, read and write in English.
Duties:
- Operating under the direction of the Welding Supervisor at Anmar’s fabrication shop in Lively, ON, the Welder’s duties will include but not be limited to:
- ·Reviewing drawings and specifications of a particular product and planning the production process, including how to cut the work piece, the correct tools and materials required for the job and the sequence of steps to follow;
- Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and flame-cutting equipment;
- Operating angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;
- Completing welding on a wide range of materials including stainless steel, chrome, carbon (primarily C-276/T16);
- Heating, forming, and dressing specialty alloy parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment;
- Laying out, positioning, and securing parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler;
- Weld, layout, cut, and fit parts and assemblies per fabrication drawings and to established quality standard;
- Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment;
- Observing tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications;
- Inspecting grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments;
- Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements, seeking approval and recommendations from other staff and Welding Supervisor when necessary;
- Setting up components for welding and/or fitting according to specifications;
- Welding components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions;
- Monitoring all welding processes and ensuring absence of any shrinkage and distortion to materials;
- Developing templates and other work aids to hold and align parts;
- Analyzing and identifying defective equipment and informing Fabrication Manager; and
- Maintaining all shop tools, vehicles, and equipment in accordance with Anmar quality standards.
