SENIOR STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER

Qualifications

Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior position and experience in a shop setting. Applicants must also have completed a Civil Engineering program at the college or university level, or related education and training.
Certifications, including an Architectural Drafting Trade Certification, and further qualifications are an asset.

Candidates must have experience in doing the following:

• Computer Aided drafting (CAD); 2D and 3D
• Autodesk Advanced Steel
• Manual drafting
• Free hand drafting
• Shop drawings
• Detailing drawings
• Presentation drawings

Specific Skill Requirements:

• Prepare engineering designs & drawings
• Develop & prepare design sketches
• Write technical reports
• Write specifications
• Prepare contracts and tendors
• Estimate costs and materials
• Complete documentation packages and drawing sets
• Examine drawings for conformity and errors
• Know and use computer hardware and software including Windows, CAD software, Autodesk, 2D/3D animation, and Programming software
